What is UV protection?

Our sun not only gives us light, warmth and comfort but also dangerous radiation: UVA, UVB, and UVC.

Most of this radiation, which is harmful to the skin, is absorbed by the ozone layer in the stratosphere. However, over the past 20 years the ozone layer has become increasingly permeable, meaning that more and more of the harmful radiation reaches the Earth.

The sun protection factor indicates how much longer you can stay outdoors without protection before getting sunburned.

Custom-made parasols are not available in the standard garden range.

What does it mean when an item is labeled as “currently not available”?

„Currently not available” means that the item is currently out of stock and therefore cannot be ordered or delivered immediately.
We aim to maintain a high level of product availability. However, due to the seasonal nature of the business, this is unfortunately not always possible.

How much wind can your parasols withstand?

Our parasols have not been tested in a wind tunnel. For this reason we cannot give you precise information about the maximum wind strength. In a wind tunnel, the parasol is exposed to homogeneous currents. The wind would therefore only hit the parasol  from one side, whereas under real conditions winds affect the parasol from different directions and strengths.

Do Schneider Schirme products contain PFAS'?

We work closely with our suppliers on this topic and regularly review the materials used with regard to legal requirements and current developments.
According to our current knowledge, no PFAS are used in our products.
PFAS is a very large group of chemical substances that have been used worldwide in many industries.
Due to the large number of possible compounds and complex supply chains, unintended traces of individual substances cannot be completely ruled out analytically.
We closely monitor developments regarding PFAS and continuously work to further develop materials and processes in line with current requirements.

Where can I find spare parts for my parasol?

You can find our spare parts here.
To search, you will need the 6-digit batch number and the article number. Both numbers can be found on the sewn-in label on the inside of the canopy (along a seam on one of the ribs). If the label is missing or illegible, please send us photos of the entire parasol and the required spare part by email or via our photo upload tool.

How can I clean my parasol?

You can best remove loose dirt or dust with a soft brush. In general, regular rinsing of the canopy helps prevent heavier soiling.
If more stubborn dirt does occur, the parasol can be cleaned with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Use a sponge or a soft brush for this.
Afterwards, the canopy should be left to dry completely on the open frame.
Attention: The following cleaning methods are not suitable:

using a pressure washer
washing the canopy in a washing machine
abrasive or harsh cleaning agents
cleaning with hot water (may cause the fabric to shrink)

How do I winterize my parasol?

Always store the parasol in a dry and well-ventilated place. Only store the parasol when it is completely dry. Otherwise, mildew stains and mould may develop. Make sure that no mice or other animals can access the parasol at the storage location.

How can I check the current status of my order? I have ordered an item – when can I expect delivery?

In order to provide you with the current shipment status, we need your order number (OS…) as well as the email address used when placing the order.
Please have this information ready or send it to us so that we can process your request quickly.
