Our sun not only gives us light, warmth and comfort but also dangerous radiation: UVA, UVB, and UVC.
Most of this radiation, which is harmful to the skin, is absorbed by the ozone layer in the stratosphere. However, over the past 20 years the ozone layer has become increasingly permeable, meaning that more and more of the harmful radiation reaches the Earth.
The sun protection factor indicates how much longer you can stay outdoors without protection before getting sunburned.
Custom-made parasols are not available in the standard garden range.
If you are still interested in a tailored solution, please feel free to contact Schneider Professional, which specializes in custom parasols and professional solutions.
You can find further information via the link below.
„Currently not available” means that the item is currently out of stock and therefore cannot be ordered or delivered immediately.
We aim to maintain a high level of product availability. However, due to the seasonal nature of the business, this is unfortunately not always possible.
No, a parasol frame is unfortunately not available separately.
For logistical reasons, the parasols are already stored packaged and ready for shipment.
Therefore, removing individual components or shipping the frame separately is not feasible for organizational reasons.
Our parasols have not been tested in a wind tunnel. For this reason we cannot give you precise information about the maximum wind strength. In a wind tunnel, the parasol is exposed to homogeneous currents. The wind would therefore only hit the parasol from one side, whereas under real conditions winds affect the parasol from different directions and strengths.
The rotary plate of your cantilever parasol is pre-tensioned to ensure a secure stand. It can only be rotated when the parasol is fully assembled with all paving slabs in place.
Please check that the unit has been assembled correctly according to the instructions and that all screws are firmly tightened. Operate the foot pedal and rotate the parasol.
Rotation can be assisted by guiding a rib in the desired direction with one hand.
If problems persist, please contact our service team.
If the rotary plate of your cantilever parasol no longer turns after several years of use, this is usually due to the ball bearing in the rotary plate.
Dirt, sand, or flaking of the coating can cause the grease in the ball bearing to clump together, which can block the rotating mechanism.
Damaged balls can also affect its function.
To restore the rotation function, you can order the appropriate replacement rotary plate via our spare parts finder.
Yes, the Schneider universal ground anchor and the Rhodos Grande parasol are technically compatible.
We recommend concreting the universal ground anchor into place for this purpose.
The hanging parasol wind stabiliser requires a locking screw on the lower mast of the parasol for proper use.
The Rhodos Junior does not have a locking screw or a suitable mounting option to which our hanging parasol wind stabiliser can be attached.
You can find compatible parasols on the product detail page of the hanging parasol wind stabiliser.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer the tilt mechanism as a spare part for these models.
The reason for this is that replacing the tilt mechanism requires special tools. We kindly ask for your understanding.
Yes, the pole for the shade sail can be used with both the universal base plate and the universal ground anchor. We recommend setting the universal ground anchor in concrete when using it.
Information about the compatibility of cantilever umbrellas with accessories can be found on the respective product detail page.
Screw connections on a parasol should be checked regularly to ensure they are tight.
It is also important to inspect moving parts at regular intervals to make sure they are in proper working condition.
Due to use, movement and external influences, screws can loosen over time.
A brief, regular inspection helps keep all connections secure and prevents screws from loosening or falling out.
If the crank on a cantilever parasol is jammed or slipping, the issue is usually related to the handle or the internal gearbox mechanism.
Common causes include wear and tear, overloading of the parasol (e.g. due to wind) or corrosion inside the mechanism.
A blocked crank or defective gearbox usually cannot be restored to working order, as it is a sealed system.
We do not recommend attempting repairs yourself or using lubricants, as this may cause further damage.
The recommended solution is to replace the handle unit including the rope. The appropriate spare part ensures that the parasol can be opened and closed safely and reliably again.
The universal ground anchor can be either concreted in or buried. When burying it, it is important that the ground conditions are suitable (natural topsoil, no sandy or gravelly soils). In addition, only the parasol models recommended by us should be used to ensure a secure hold.
The universal ground plate, on the other hand, is designed exclusively to be concreted in and therefore provides a permanently stable foundation solution.
We offer various solutions for securely fixing your cantilever parasol: the universal ground plate, the universal ground anchor and the universal ground stake. Which fixing option is suitable for you depends on several factors. Please clarify the following points in advance:
1. Which cantilever parasol do you own or plan to purchase?
2. How would you like to fix the parasol?
a. by concreting it in (universal ground plate and universal ground anchor)
b. by burying it (universal ground anchor)
c. by screwing it into the ground (universal ground stake)
3. What is the condition of the ground?
Check the condition of the ground where you would like to install the parasol. Choosing the right parasol fixing solution depends significantly on the ground conditions.
Detailed requirements for each fixing option can be found on the product detail pages.
Installation tip:
We recommend first setting up your cantilever parasol with a slab base in the desired location before final installation. This allows you to check whether the parasol can be adjusted freely in all directions.
Important note:
Due to its size, the Rhodos Grande cantilever parasol in the sizes 400 × 300 cm and 400 cm Ø is only suitable for use with the universal ground plate.
Our experience shows that the parasol usually rotates if the locking nut or screw connection on the stand has not been fully tightened. Please first check whether these are properly tightened.
If the parasol still rotates in the stand, please send us pictures of the base and the parasol. This will allow us to review your claim in more detail and assist you further.
Yes, when purchasing a spare part, the corresponding repair instructions are included. In addition, you can view and download the repair instructions at any time in the download section on the product detail page of the spare part.
After delivery, the new parasol canopy may show creases. These do not affect its function and are not a sign of damage. By regularly opening the parasol and tensioning the canopy, the creases will smooth out on their own.
Alternatively, the canopy can be lightly moistened with water on a warm, sunny day while the parasol is open. When it subsequently dries in the open, tensioned state, the material will smooth out further.
We work closely with our suppliers on this topic and regularly review the materials used with regard to legal requirements and current developments.
According to our current knowledge, no PFAS are used in our products.
PFAS is a very large group of chemical substances that have been used worldwide in many industries.
Due to the large number of possible compounds and complex supply chains, unintended traces of individual substances cannot be completely ruled out analytically.
We closely monitor developments regarding PFAS and continuously work to further develop materials and processes in line with current requirements.
Our new parasol canopies are neither inferior in quality nor in workmanship compared to earlier models. The difference in perception is usually due to the fact that your old canopy was exposed to weather conditions and regular use over many years. As a result, the material has become more compact over time and now appears more stable or stiffer.
A new canopy, on the other hand, is initially more flexible because the material has not yet “settled.” With continued use and natural environmental exposure, the new canopy will also develop this firmer structure over time.
The backward tilt of the support poles of our cantilever umbrellas of approximately 3° prevents the opened parasol from leaning forward toward the ground. It therefore ensures a more balanced overall appearance of the parasol.
The backward tilt is technically correct and does not constitute a reason for complaint.
As parasols on balconies can be exposed to higher wind loads, you should ensure you use a suitable parasol mounting system. You can find more information on our dedicated topic page for balcony parasols. You can access it here.
Compatible fixing options can also be found on the respective product detail page of the parasol.
The currently suitable cantilever parasols for the mobile parasol stand can be found on the product detail page.
The Rhodos Grande parasol is technically compatible, however, we do not recommend this combination.
Due to the size of the parasol, the mobile parasol stand cannot provide the required stability.
We do not assume any liability in this case.
Our cantilever parasols use two different bolt hole spacings for mounting the rotary plates:
✔️ 113 mm – this bolt hole spacing is the standard for almost all rotary plates of our cantilever parasols.
✔️ 92 mm – this bolt hole spacing is used only for the “Genua” model.
Suitable accessories can be found on the product detail pages of the parasols.

The canopy of your Schneider parasol can be replaced easily by yourself. You can obtain a suitable replacement cover either through a Schneider specialist retailer or the dealer from whom you purchased your parasol, or directly via our spare parts shop.
You can either provide the dealer with the item number (e.g. 640-77) and the batch number, or enter both details directly into our spare parts finder. The item and batch numbers can be found on the sewn-in label inside the parasol or on your invoice/receipt.
The dealer will then check the availability of the desired cover and, if necessary, can order it directly for you. In the spare parts finder, all suitable replacement parts for your parasol are displayed, including the availability of the respective cover.
Please check whether the batch number and article number are correct. If you still cannot find any spare parts for your parasol, please contact our customer service.

This is contamination of the parasol cover, which only forms in conjunction with organic material (pollen, bird droppings, etc.). To remove this dirt, you can brush your parasol with a soft brush, a little mild soapy water and lukewarm water. Then allow the parasol to dry completely while it is open. To prevent this issue, you should not cover a damp parasol with a protective cover. It is also advisable that an parasol that is not used regularly is opened from time to time to dry.
Attention: The following cleaning methods are not suitable:
using a pressure washer
washing the canopy in a washing machine
abrasive or harsh cleaning agents
cleaning with hot water (may cause the fabric to shrink)
You can best remove loose dirt or dust with a soft brush. In general, regular rinsing of the canopy helps prevent heavier soiling.
If more stubborn dirt does occur, the parasol can be cleaned with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Use a sponge or a soft brush for this.
Afterwards, the canopy should be left to dry completely on the open frame.

Always store the parasol in a dry and well-ventilated place. Only store the parasol when it is completely dry. Otherwise, mildew stains and mould may develop. Make sure that no mice or other animals can access the parasol at the storage location.
